How my Yoga journey started

From the age of 20 I started experiencing terrible back pain and was diagnosed with degeneration in the lower vertebra of my spine.  I lived with this pain for many years until my doctor advised me to take up yoga when I was in my 30s. Through a regular and dedicated practice I slowly started to experience the true healing powers of yoga not just physically but also, and most importantly, mentally.  Yoga then became my passion and nothing got in the way of my weekly sessions, having strongly connected with my teacher (very important in yoga).

How did I get into teaching?

Having worked as a secretary/PA for many years I felt it was time, in my forties, for a change in career.  I no longer wanted to be stuck behind a desk in an office environment.  My father also passed away at this time and having gone through a difficult time mentally and emotionally prior to that, I realised how yoga really can help to deal with life’s challenges. It was then that I realised I wanted to help others and I had this calling to teach. It’s almost as if my father’s passing led me to this path.

So here I am today, teaching, learning and sharing having finally found my passion in life and for as long as I am teaching (hopefully into my 80s!!), I will carry on learning and sharing.
